EXPRESSION OF INTEREST

INVITATION TO PARTICIPATE IN DPWI COVID-19 YOUTH BRIGADES PROGRAMME.

COVID-19 YOUTH BRIGADES PROGRAMME.

Eastern Cape unemployed youth are invited to register on the Amathuba Job Portal and apply for placement in the COVID-19 Youth Brigades Programme.

Participants in the Programme will be performing the following functions:

  • Maintain OHS requirements.
  • Screen and record all personnel and clients entering our all state buildings and/ project sites.
  • Maintenance of hygiene in all state buildings and;
  • Disinfect, Fumigate and Fogg state buildings as and when required.

The programme will run for a period of six (6) months. The successful applicants will be placed into Department of Public Works and Infrastructure Facilities and Construction Projects.

HEALTH AND SAFETY REPRESENTATIVES (18 OPPORTUNITIES).STIPEND PER MONTH: R4 000.00

REQUIREMENTS FOR SELECTION:

  • Minimum qualification – Certificate on OHS or Environmental Health/ Management.
  • A 1-year Diploma in Health and Safety or Environmental Health/ Management will be added advantage.
  • Declaration of Health will be signed with the selected Participants

MONITORS (694 OPPORTUNITIES).
STIPEND PER MONTH: R3 500.00REQUIREMENTS FOR SELECTION:

  • Minimum qualification – Grade 12 Certificate .
  • A 1-year Diploma or Degree will be added advantage.
  • Declaration of Health will be signed with the selected Participants.

CLEANERS (288 OPPORTUNITIES)
STIPEND PER MONTH: R2 200.00

REQUIREMENTS FOR SELECTION:

  • Minimum qualification – Grade 10.
  •  Declaration of Health will be signed with the selected Participants.

The target for the programme is unemployed youth between the ages 18-35 (COVID-19 Youth Brigades Programme). The Department is also paying monthly stipend to selected Participants. Preference will be given to people from the Eastern Cape Province, women and people with disabilities.


N.B Qualifying applicants can also log on to https://www.amathuba.ecdpw.gov.za/ to register and apply for this programme. This database will be opened for people to register during the period.
