Become an extra or supporting actor on your favorite Show

GET PAID TO BE AN EXTRA OR ACTOR ON TV

Ever wondered what it takes to become an extra on Generation, The Queen, Isibaya and even in commercials to mention a few, just to get paid to walk around the background, drink tea and if lucky, get a line or two to speak on the show.
Truth is most of the time you don’t even need experience in acting, at the end of the day you don’t even speak just sit back and look busy and at the end of the day get paid.

People are getting paid between R 350 – R 1 000 just for appearance for a day and many people think that they need agents for such jobs, truth is these days you can find anything on the web.

Today I discovered a site called Online casting South Africa it has all types of Auditions from Tv shows, modelling to appearing on music videos. On this website you can even get Auditions for children to advertise clothes on TV from Leading retail stores across South Africa.

Another place to look for tv gigs is on the SABC website, these days all you need is to google the right keywords and you can find any type of acting job you want.

So!!, do you think you have what it takes to became an extra or supporting actor.

You don’t have to be a supermodel to be an extra or supporting actor they just need people who can look and play the part, the big question when it comes to them picking you for a role is can you fit in, “can you play the shop attendant, sit in bar and not say a word”?

WHAT IS REQUIRE

Basically, all that’s needed to be successful is that you are reliable, flexible, patient and willing to take direction. With this industry it requires a lot of sitting around and repeating the same scenes often, you need to be always ready and alert.

You can also google for casting agencies if you want to go the professional route which that involves paying booking fees and paying percentages for work paid.

GOOD LUCK HOPE TO SEE YOU ON TV SOON

Try your luck
